Real Ale from the Tryst
Traditional Scottish beersScottish beers are traditionally darker, sweeter and less heavily hopped than those produced in England or Wales but many new micro breweries produce beers lighter in colour and with more generous hopping. Tryst ale stylesTryst Ales are predominately hoppy and slightly more bitter than most ale produced in other Scottish micros, (the exeption being Zetland Wheatbier) the recipes are heavily influenced by craft brewing methods and ingredients. The beers are not as high in alcohol content, ranging from 3.8% to 4.5% abv, but are packed with as much malt and hop taste as possible.
